PROBLEM:
In the suburbs of Mumbai, our clients had a dilemma. Their son was getting married, and guests would be arriving in two days. Guests would make their way to the home through a stairway, on both sides of which lay bare, untended land. Could we create something that fill the space with something interesting? They had the space, and whatever materials we could salvage from the shed.

SOLUTION:
We looked at the space and brought in plants and trees that would do well in this densely shaded spot. In the shed, we found old window frames and some metal rods. We painted the window frames red, and hooked them to the rods. These would 'float', framing the plants as if a landscape painting had come alive.

We found some old stone blocks in a corner and made a little circular arrangement and made a fire pit in the middle, and planted around this. A path was made through this 'instant forest' to the fire pit. Almost finished, the family found some old musical instruments, and we arranged them in the landscape as well. This way, the land and plants could celebrate with the family!
