Bonobo Jungle Chic

PROBLEM:
We were asked to create a 'Jungle' theme for the launch party of a popular nightspot in the suburbs of mumbai.

Plants would have to cover many surfaces without getting in the way of the hospitality operations or taking up to much floor space for the expected guest turnout.

The 'jungle' would have to go up in a matter of hours before the party and then be taken down and removed before the next morning's brunch event so as not interfere with regular operations of the bar/restaurant.

SOLUTION:
By examining the space and architectural plans and working closely with the event organisers and club owners, we were able to establish the best spaces to group specific plants.

We created pathways through the 'jungle' by arranging plants along the entrance.

Then we filled walls and ladders with orchids and bromeliads.

We then made an overhead rope web and hooked living plants to it in order to create our own 'jungle canopy'.

The carefully placed overhead vines and plants came within a few feet of reveller's heads, creating a cozy feeling. Plants were hung on chandeliers and light fixtures in such a way as to not hurt the plants from the heat of bulbs but making them light enough to not damage any of the fixtures.

The night was a massive success and today the club is one of Bombay's premiere venues for cutting edge music. We love you Bonobo! X
