Oikos Ecological Solutions

The Oikos: Ecological Solutions Blog documents the journey of our small eco-enterprise, using ecological design principles and biophilic approaches to human spaces. By bridging between architecture, landscape and community we can change the way we interact with the environment. Climate action and regenerative design is our way forward and we bring all our experience in wildlife, greening, and ecological technologies to solve the problems we face collectively today.

Cool how sometimes #animals and #plants have matching #colourschemes. If you are a #butterfly #fromwhatiunderstand, it's only a few plants that #dictateyourwholelife. All the more reason for humans to #plantgardens #forwildlife. #indigogreencamp #wildlifegardening #ixora

Been such a #mushroomy #daytoday. Long and tiring, but fun! Little did I know that my visit to the #fullyestablished #oikoses #forestpark in #jogeshwari would yield #wildoystermushrooms and #woodears on the same log just inches from each other, but another fascinating #wildedible, #termitomyces #mushrooms. #farmed by #termites in a process we humans are yet to understand, these fungi will make a #delish #dish. #fungalist #freshly #foraged #fine #foods

Before I left, #almosteveryday had become #snake day in #Lanka at some point. I was being shown some of the #localtrees, when near a #papaya plant, a #shriek and #jumpback from my hosts made me #switch to #snakemode and quickly I #gatheredup my friend here, the lovely and #alwayschill, #ahaetullanasuta. Released just next door in the #forest. #oikoses #wildernessculture #herpstyle #greenvinesnake #mildlyvenomous #beautifulwildlife #ecolanka

Straight back to work in #bombay and #moremotivated to #pushboundaries with #whatimdoing, and somehow it feels like more #fluid and #natural #alignments are happening. Went to meet a friend of mine and turns out he has plants around him I've been looking to #propagate for years! Meet one, the #bluefountainbush. #clerodendrumserratum #rothecaserrata #blue #flower #native #oikoses #edible #prettyplants

About Me

My photo
Gautam Muralidharan
I'm very much a people person. I just prefer plants and music more. I guess music people and plant people are somewhere in between.
