Oikos Ecological Solutions

The Oikos: Ecological Solutions Blog documents the journey of our small eco-enterprise, using ecological design principles and biophilic approaches to human spaces. By bridging between architecture, landscape and community we can change the way we interact with the environment. Climate action and regenerative design is our way forward and we bring all our experience in wildlife, greening, and ecological technologies to solve the problems we face collectively today.

Any takers? Made a bunch of these #mushroom #lamps while I was in Auroville, thanks to the many friends and machines that helped us along the way. A special shout out to @light_fish_talk for the hospitality and workshop time, and @rachetta_lee for the blood and sweat. #fungalist #auroville #productdesign #mushlove #artwork #woodwork #nightlight #newwaves #lightfish #oikoses #aurelec.

Of all the people I’ve met so far in and around #Auroville, I’m most impressed by the super #progressive and highly #innovative work being done by @faborg_vegan_wool. These #voluminous #bananatrees at the factory speak volumes about their holistic approach to production, waste management, and ecology, all while working with a totally overlooked (also one of my favourite) native medicinal plant species, #calotropisgigantea. #oikoses #sitevisits #fabric #insectrepellent #bionutrients #community #sustainability #forwardthinking

This day just keeps getting more depressing. This is the 6th roadkill I’ve seen in less than 4 hours. Lives snuffed out from our sheer indifference to the world around us. #human #guilt #indigogreencamp #roadkill #indianchameleon

About Me

My photo
Gautam Muralidharan
I'm very much a people person. I just prefer plants and music more. I guess music people and plant people are somewhere in between.
